Microsoft ready to welcome Apple and its iMessage on Windows

Satya Nadella would welcome Apple if the giant decided to offer its iMessage messaging service on Windows.

Microsoft and Apple are competitors in many ways, but sometimes the two giants collaborate, or at least not step on each other’s toes on purpose. Instant messaging could be a point of reconciliation. The Redmond Firm would welcome Apple and its software iMessage. Explication.

Will we ever be able to use iMessage on Windows?

iMessage is one of the most exclusive features of Apple products. For a very long time this was also the case with FaceTime but that could change very soon. That being said, during an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said he would be very happy to welcome iMessage to Windows.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is not closed to this idea

As you may have already read here and there, the upcoming Windows 11 major update will allow Windows users to run Android apps. During the interview, the subject of the possibility of seeing Apple carrying some of its own applications on Windows was therefore logically discussed. And Satya Nadella said he was very happy if Apple wanted to do anything on Windows, including, of course, regarding iMessage.

Whether Apple will decide to do so is a whole different story, but Microsoft would not close the door in any case. It is difficult to know if Apple will one day choose to embark on this path, it would remove the exclusive nature of iMessage but it would be very nice for the general public if Windows and Mac users could finally chat together via this platform. .

To conclude, we will also remember that, a long, long time ago, Apple seriously considered offering iMessage on Android. Unfortunately, the idea was dropped on the grounds that it would give one less reason to buy an iPhone than an Android smartphone. As said, it’s unclear if iMessage will ever arrive on Windows but it would be a very good thing.
