Microsoft pulls the OneNote app for Windows 10 from its store – Computer – News

Microsoft retired OneNote for Windows 10, the OneNote app built into Windows 10, from the Microsoft Store on Wednesday. There is now only a single OneNote app available, which is a fusion of OneNote for Windows 10 and the Microsoft 365 version of the app.

Microsoft has already announced last year that OneNote for Windows 10 was about to disappear. In a message, the company writes that the app downloaded from the old version will continue to work, but will no longer receive new security updates.

The OneNote app now available in the Microsoft Store is a merger of the OneNote app for Windows 10 and the version included in the Microsoft 365 subscription. Microsoft says it hasn’t created a new app, but is adding functionality to the current OneNote app. This includes a new design and can be accessed directly through the Surface Slim Pen 2, which works with the Surface Duo 2 phone and supports Windows PCs.

Update, 20:38: An earlier version of the article stated that OneNote for Windows 10 will reach end-of-life status in October 2025. However, this turned out not to be true. There will be no more feature updates. That is why the article has been changed.
