A Microsoft again elaborated a prediction of the future and built a video that demonstrates the company’s idea of how the meetings in the future. The video introduces the concept of Team Rooms, spaces for professional meetings that contain spatial audio and larger screens for videoconferences that show the members in real size.
The idea is that, after the COVID-19 pandemic and the safe return to face-to-face activities, the meeting rooms bring people together that are more distant from reality. In this way, there will be places designed specifically for the hybrid collaboration among workers operating in the face-to-face regime and others who are in the home office, for example.
The screens displayed by the Microsoft will allow people to see themselves in natural size – instead of a small rectangle in the corner of the computer.
Elements present in these new rooms also include microphones on the ceiling, in order to make the technology less visible but still functional, in addition to a smart camera integrated into the room that captures and focuses on whoever is speaking at the moment.
O spatial audio – or spatial audio -, also present in the projection, provides a more complete experience for the meetings. It works to simulate a physical location for different audio sources.
In the case of the meeting room, it will be used with the function of allowing the participants present in the physical space identify interlocutors who are in videoconference from the audio location.
