Microsoft is transferring its PC accessories business to Incase. Except for the Surface brand, all other accessory products such as keyboards, mice, headsets, and webcams are sold under the Incase brand. Last May, Microsoft decided to end accessory sales.
According to the U.S. ZDNet on the 5th (local time), Microsoft and Incase’s parent company ‘Onward’ announced that they have entered into a strategic partnership and plan to sell the Microsoft brand’s PC accessory portfolio starting this year.
The new product line will be sold under the brand name ‘Incase Designed by Microsoft’.
Microsoft accessories rebranded and relaunched under the Incase brand
In May last year, Microsoft discontinued all PC accessory products, including keyboards, mice, and webcams, except for the Surface brand. Microsoft’s PC accessory business began with the launch of ‘Microsoft Mouse’ in 1983 and ended last year after 40 years.
PC accessories transferred to Incase include popular products such as ergonomic keyboards. Onward said it plans to relaunch 23 Microsoft products under the Incase brand this year and hopes to launch them in the second quarter. We also plan to release an ergonomic keyboard that was designed and developed by Microsoft but was never released.
Incase, a brand specializing in accessories for mobile devices, has signed a contract with Microsoft to sell a computer accessory brand for the first time.
