Microsoft has added new tools to edit images on your cloud storage service OneDrive, through which you can now crop, rotate, and flip an image, as well as making them color and light settings.
The company has announced these editing features along with other display and organization services this Tuesday, and has noted that expects to report further enhancements to OneDrive during 2022.
The first of the three editing tools is the ‘Trim’, which allows you to choose a part of the original image to create a new one with only the chosen part. Microsoft points out that it can be useful to change the dimensions to a standard size to upload it to a social network, create a profile image or make a ‘banner’ thanks to its presets, as well as manual cropping.
The option of ‘Rotate and flip’ makes it easy to rotate 90 degrees or the rotation that the user wishes with a specific menu for it, as well as to turn the image 180 degrees. In addition, the so-called ‘incremental degree rotation’ makes it possible to straighten tilted images.
The latest editing tool adds ‘Light and color settings’, which include options to make changes to lighting, exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, and color saturation, increasing or decreasing the original level of these options.
These editing tools are now available for personal accounts in the web version and on Android 6.0 or higher devices with version 6.30 of the OneDrive ‘app’ or later. For now, photo editing can be applied to JPEG and PNG format images, and the preset ratios include square, 9:16, 16: 9, 4: 5, 5: 4, 3: 4, 4 aspect ratios. : 3, 2: 3, 3: 2, 1: 2 and 2: 1.
Along with this, Microsoft indicates that it plans for these features to arrive to iOS this year, So what in summer they could also have access to work and school accounts.
On the other hand, the American company has highlighted a new tool to Cast OneDrive Image to Displays bigger through support with Chromecast. This tool, which uses WiFi to transmit images, has been added to the OneDrive interface with a symbol in the upper right corner.
By pressing the icon, the output device will display, for example on a television, the photos and videos that are being viewed in real time in the OneDrive mobile app. This service is available at Android devices.
The service also adds a new setting for sorting and organizing images in folders named according to the source from which they were uploaded. They have also developed a way of group files by month and year. This setting will appear for the next two months in the ‘app’ of OneDrive for Android.
By last, OneDrive for web and Android integrate filters to find images, with a new option at the top right of the photos tab or menu, respectively. Filters include the ability to choose to view files in one or more folders and to create them manually.
