Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Microsoft Office 2021 Consumer Version will be released on October 5, 2021. The same date that Microsoft launched Windows 11.
Tech Crunch notes that as with Office 2019, Office 2021 will be a one-time purchase on Windows and macOS. This is for people who don’t want to subscribe to Microsoft 365.
Microsoft promises to soon share more detailed information about Microsoft Office 2021, quoted Friday (17/9/2021).
The Verge reports that the release will feature many of the same improvements as Office LTSC. The variant is released for enterprise customers who cannot access the Cloud.
In addition, in Office 2021, there will also be accessibility features and Dark mode support.
An earlier announcement also revealed that Microsoft plans to support the software in five years and will work with 32 and 64 bit systems out of the box.
On October 5, it was also announced that Windows 11 would be released in stages. For an early stage, free upgrades will be accepted for eligible Windows 10 PCs or new hardware that has included Windows 11.
After October 5th, there will be more devices on the market that will be able to update to Windows 11.
“Following the incredible learnings from Windows 10, we wanted to ensure that we deliver the best possible experience,” said general manager of Windows marketing at Microsoft, Aaron Woodman, quoted by The Verge.
But for PCs that are not fully compatible with Windows 11, Windows 10 can still be used until October 14, 2025. However, there is no information about how many major updates will be for Windows 10 in the next few years.
“We expect all eligible devices to be offered a free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022.”
