Microsoft makes some Bethesda games exclusively for Xbox and PC | NOW

Microsoft CEO Phil Spencer writes in a blog post that “some of the new Bethesda games will only be available to players on Xbox and PC in the future.” Spencer did not mention titles of exclusive games yet.

Microsoft officially has game studio Bethesda and parent company ZeniMax taken over, after the European Commission and the American stock market watchdog also gave the green light in recent days. $ 7.5 billion will be paid for the acquisition. Bethesda is known for popular game series such as Fallout, The Elder Scrolls in Doom.

In his first post after the official close, Spencer writes about exclusivity of some games for Microsoft platforms. So those games will not appear on the PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch, at least not immediately.

Spencer does not write about the possibility that games, for example, will be released later on other platforms. Microsoft will announce more about this later. The Microsoft CEO said earlier that he would see on a case-by-case basis whether titles would also appear for other platforms.

Bethesda games will also be available on Game Pass, Microsoft’s games subscription service. In addition, users pay a monthly fee per month to download games from the collection.

Bethesda exclusive PS5 games are also still in development

Earlier, Bethesda vice president Pete Hines announced that nothing will change in the way Bethesda works for the time being. “We are still working on the same games, at the same studios that have been doing that for years. We will continue to publish the games ourselves.”

Incidentally, previously announced exclusive Bethesda games for the PlayStation 5 are planned. It’s about Deathloop in GhostWire: Tokyo. Those games are still being worked on.
