Microsoft Leaks Plans for New Xbox Series X Refresh and Xbox Series S Upgrade – Release Dates, Features, and More

Microsoft plans to launch a new edition of the Xbox Series

The news comes from a series of documents used as material in the lawsuit against the US Federal Trade Commission. Last night the paperwork was leaked, making a lot of Microsoft’s future releases public.

One of the leaked documents highlights an ‘Xbox Series X refresh’. The new consoles, known as Project Brooklin, have more storage space, faster WiFi, less power consumption, a new controller and a brand new design. Furthermore, the console will no longer have a disc drive.

The new Xbox controller codenamed ‘Sebile’ will have haptic feedback, an accelerometer, a rechargeable and replaceable battery and modular thumbsticks.

According to the chart below, the ‘Brooklin’ will be released in November 2024 with 2Tb of internal storage space. The console would have the same price as the current Xbox Series X.

In addition, the documentation also mentions an Xbox Series S refresh, with 1Tb of storage space, which will be released in September next year. The console takes over some features from the Project Brooklin, such as the faster WiFi.

If the news is correct, we may get a real update to the console market. After all, Sony is also said to be working on a PS5 Pro, while Nintendo wants to launch a successor to the Nintendo Switch. All in 2024.
