Today, Microsoft released the new KB5035849 update for Windows 10, as part of Patch Tuesday, but some users are now reporting failures when trying to install it.
According to reportsthe update is failing at the time of installation, both on Windows 10 and on Windows Server, with error code 0xd0000034.
The failure occurs when users try to install the new update via Windows Update, and the reports seem to focus more on Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019, which reached the end of mainstream support in January, but should remain with extended support until January 2029.
So far, Microsoft has not yet confirmed the existence of problems with the update, and the update page still indicates that there are no known flaws.
However, several users began reporting this issue on the company’s support forums. Direct installation via Windows Update seems to be the cause of the problems, as manually downloading the installation package seems to allow the correct update.
For anyone experiencing the issue, the update can be downloaded directly from Microsoft’s Update Catalog.
