Microsoft is said to be working on a new Notepad

Windows 11 was launched almost a week ago and introduced a new visual design. Several of Microsoft’s basic software like Paint and Photos have been updated to follow the same style with rounded corners and softer looks. Now it looks like the Notepad program, also known as Notepad, is getting a facelift.

A sneak peek at the new look is revealed by the Twitter user @FireCubeStudios. The images should have been published by a developer at Microsoft and then quickly deleted again. In addition to rounded corners, there is also a change in the number of drop-down menus, which go from five to three.

Compared to the current version of Windows 11, the biggest differences seem to be the menu appearance for formatting and settings. The options that are currently spread out in several of the menus and opened in separate windows are instead shared in the same menu. They also do not open in their own window but have the same style as other similar menus in Windows 11.

Whether and in such a case when the change may be implemented is still unknown.
