Microsoft is working on a new game, gosh, what a surprise! Still, we have a little more details: it is an AAA open world game.
This is evident from the LinkedIn page of Dave Mongan, a narrative director who works at Xbox Game Studios Publishing. According to his profile, he recently worked on Microsoft Flight Simulator and is now working on “an exciting AAA open world game yet to be announced.”
Mongan has now adjusted the text on his profile, but you can see a screenshot below. More details about the project are not yet available, but it must go crazy if the game is not in the works for Xbox Series X and S and PC.
Microsoft has acquired quite a few studios in recent years – including Double Fine and ZeniMax, Bethesda’s parent company – but also has in-house studios where games are developed. Similarly, the new studio The Initiative is working on a Series X game about which nothing is known yet.
