Microsoft announces the new games for Xbox Game Pass. In addition to StarCraft and South Park, subscribers can also look forward to one of the most important shooters of the year.
Xbox Game Pass: Now comes Call of Duty
The time has come soon: Microsoft is playing out one of its biggest trump cards and releasing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 directly at launch in Game Pass. The shooter will almost certainly be one of the most successful games of the year – but that also means enormous pressure of expectations for the Xbox manufacturer.
In a new post Xbox Wire Microsoft presents the new games for the second half of October. Subscribers can on 25 October Get started with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. However, the game is only included in Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
Call of Duty is published by the publisher Activision Blizzard which Microsoft bought for the insane sum of $69 billion. It’s been a whole year since the takeover, but the new games are trickling into Game Pass very slowly.
Now Microsoft can (and must) prove that the The billion-dollar purchase was worth it. Bringing a game as big as Call of Duty into Game Pass right at launch could cause subscriber numbers to skyrocket – after all, the standard edition regularly costs 79.99 euros (view on Amazon). Microsoft will certainly hope that Call of Duty players remain loyal to the subscription service in the long term. Whether this strategy will work remains to be seen in the future. The release of CoD is definitely groundbreaking for the future of Xbox. Console sales are weakening and so it is the Game Pass that has to achieve success.

- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for Cloud, Console and PC (available October 25th)
- Dead Island 2 for PC (available October 31st)
- StarCraft: Remastered for PC (available November 5th)
- StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection for PC (available November 5)
These only come for Game Pass Ultimate:
