Investigations on the Buy Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard are still in the works, but buyers are confident they’ll get it.
In an interview with BloombergSatya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, said she is not worried about the investigation and said everyone in the company is very confident that this process will end well for Microsoft.
He also admitted that he is aware that a deal of this level needs to be investigated and is getting along calmly.
“Obviously, any acquisition of this size will be thoroughly investigated, but we are very, very confident that we will succeed.”
Why does the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard take so long?
The investigation, launched on the UK’s recommendation, is creating the biggest obstacle to takeover.
While the investigation is not over, Microsoft awaits regulatory approval to formalize the $ 69 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard, about R $ 354 billion at the current price.
Activision Blizzard shareholders have already voted to approve the acquisition of the company in April of this year. Since over 98% of the shares voted in the Special Meeting are in favor of the transaction, it seems very likely that the purchase will take place, but it is not that simple.

To be sure that the agreement will be concluded, only after a thorough investigation by the relevant governing bodies. In addition to the United Kingdom, other governments such as the United States, the European Union, China, among others, must also approve the negotiation.
All this because the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) fears that with the merger of the companies the competitiveness of the gaming industry will be seriously affected, possibly creating a monopoly.
So far only Saudi Arabia has approved the process, and as investigations continue and other countries consider the merger, Microsoft remains with high expectations.
