Microsoft is bringing SwiftKey back to iOS and rolling out new features

Microsoft’s popular SwiftKey keyboard for iOS has officially returned to the Apple App Store, surprisingly, weeks after the company announced it was shutting down the app and removing it from the platform.

In October, Microsoft said SwiftKey for iOS had been shut down and removed from the Apple App Store for no apparent reason.

Despite the return, SwiftKey’s keyboard is still the latest update as of August 11, 2021, and it’s unclear if or when it will be updated.

Many users complained that there were several keyboard issues before the app was shut down, but it looks like there will be some promising changes.

Vishnu Nath, vice president of Microsoft, announced the return of the app via Twitter, inviting the public to explore what his company has in store for them in the coming days.

In turn, Pedram Rezaei, chief of staff for Microsoft’s Maps and Local Services division, said the company would “invest heavily in the keyboard.”
