Microsoft today broke the wall of silence and announced when it would launch the system Windows 11. It will happen on October 5, which is unexpectedly early; Until recently, it was speculated that this year only “eleven” will see new computers, while the update of existing ones will not start until the beginning of next year. Updates for some only
According to Microsoft, the release of the update will be divided into several phases, which means that it will definitely not reach all supported computers on October 5. Microsoft expects that the transition to Windows 11 for supported computers should take place by the middle of next year, with priority given to newer computers. Microsoft in your blog post lists some machines that will see the “eleven” in the first wave. Among them are several Surfacs, and then laptops from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo or Samsung.
However, we assume that Microsoft will also release the installation ISO file on October 5, so that the eager will be able to perform the installation manually.
The autumn update of Windows 10 (2H21) will probably be released in parallel with Windows 11, and in connection with this update, your computer will let you know whether it is ready for the “eleven” or not.
So far without Android applications
Compared to the “dozens”, Windows 11 will bring mainly a new design of the system and its applications, we will also see several new functions. Unfortunately, one of the biggest news will not be available at first; Microsoft has not yet managed to dust off the promised support for Android applications. This feature will only be available to Insiders for the next few months.
Hopefully, this will be the only missing feature, and that Windows 11 will be fine-tuned in the next five weeks. Because what we’re going to talk about, the list of known bugs in the last test build is still very long.
Will Windows 11 arrive with new Surface computers?
In addition to the new system, Microsoft plans to introduce new computers from the family before Christmas this Christmas Surface, Surface Pro 8, Surface Book 4, and Surface Go 3 are expected to arrive. It is quite possible that Microsoft will combine the release of Windows 11 with the introduction of these machines to demonstrate that it is hardware ready for the new system.
