New Surfacy in exactly three weeks
The presentation of the new Surfacs will take place on September 22 as part of an online press conference, which will begin at 5:00 PM our time. At the moment, it is not very certain how many new products Microsoft will introduce, the following devices are speculated (sorted from the most probable to the less probable):
Surface Pro 8 – we can practically certainly expect a new Tablet Surface Pro 8, which will finally get a new look after years; its appearance is likely to be close to the ARM Surface Pro X. This is also indicated by the official invitation; the tablet shown has more rounded sides and a keyboard cover with an integrated “stylus” for the stylus is attached to it. Of course, there are new Intel Core 11th generation processors, and we will probably see removable storage as well. On the contrary, we will have to say goodbye to the memory card slot and a full-fledged USB-A port.
Surface Duo 2 – The second generation of the Surface Duo communicator is also much discussed. The device should fix first-generation bugs, get bigger displays, better cameras (albeit with an aesthetically unsightly module on the back), a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 network-enabled processor 5G and NFC chip for mobile payments.
Surface Go 3 – a probable novelty is also the basic Tablet Surface Go 3, which recently appeared in two variants in the GeekBench benchmark. The tablet will probably look the same as its predecessor, the biggest news being the new Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y and Core i3-10100Y processors.
Surface Book 4 – The surprise of the event could be a completely redesigned Surface Book, which should lose a removable display in favor of a special hinge, which will allow the display to be flipped into a tablet. This computer appeared in Microsoft’s patent application, on the basis of which his unofficial renders were created. However, no tangible evidence of its existence yet exists.
Surface Laptop Pro – Another novelty could be the new Surface Laptop aimed at professionals, probably with more powerful “neultrabook” processors.
Surface Pro X – The Surface Pro X tablet could be moved to the new generation, as its “second” generation did not make any big leap forward, and Apple has proven that ARMs can be extremely powerful and economical. Will Microsoft pick up this thrown glove? Or will it simply introduce the brand new Surface Pro 8, with the ability to configure it with both Intel and Qualcomm processors?
Let us be surprised by what the Redmon will surprise with the upcoming press release. However, we can say with certainty that the new Surfacy (with the exception of Surface Duo) will run directly on the new system Windows 11.
