Microsoft Gaming’s Binding Agreement with Sony’s Opposition: Latest Updates on Activision Blizzard Acquisition

The agreement is binding, says Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft Gaming, in a message on Twitter Sunday.

Japanese Sony, which makes the Playstation game console, has been strongly opposed to American Microsoft’s long-announced acquisition of gaming giant Activision Blizzard.

The game console Playstation competes directly with Microsoft’s Xbox.

The acquisition of a total of NOK 690 billion has received the green light from the European Commission. In the United States, approval also appears to be in the works, but British regulatory authorities have not yet concluded.

Activision Blizzard is also behind “World of Warcraft” and a number of other big games.
