I was slowly thinking that we wouldn’t see it – especially after the official announcement of the new game Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, but it will happen. The current Microsoft Flight Simulator will expand with the official world update 14, which will improve six European countries, including the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the authors announced in a new role (via Indian). In addition to them, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Croatia will also be visited. At the same time, the developers from the Asobo studio attract a lot of new details, landmarks and landmarks.
10 cities will see a significant improvement: Prague, Pilsen, Brno, Budapest, Split, Dubrovnik, Ljubljana, Maribor, Sarajevo and Banja Luka. Unfortunately, there is no Slovak among them. We can look forward to a total of 103 points of interest and six detailed airports. It didn’t stop at just the description, we also got the first short taste, which shows Prague, Hluboká castle, Konopiště, Karlštejn, Bouzov, the Vltava basin, the transmitter on Ještěd, the Lednice-Valtice area, the church of St. John of Nepomuck, the Bojnice castle in Slovakia, the Tatras and the Poprad-Tatra airport.
But it doesn’t just end with landscape and buildings. We will see another local legend as in previous world updates, and here the authors have chosen Czechoslovak machines from Aero Vodochody – prototype Aero Ae-45 and Aero Ae-145. These models were created in the Airplane Heaven studio and in this case there was also a first demonstration and a closer presentation. It was a challenge for the authors, they say, because not many of these machines exist anymore, so they reached out to several owners of real machines who willingly provided manuals and other technical information. The result is a cockpit with Czech labels and several domestic liveries.
World update 14 and the new local legend will be released together next week, specifically on July 25. Landscape improvements will be classically free, but you have to pay extra for new machines. We have repeatedly written about local improvements for Microsoft Flight Simulator on Vortex. There are better versions of Prague airport and Prague itself. But in all cases so far these were paid mods from third party developers.
