Microsoft Flight Simulator for Xbox: “Superb porting of ultra-PC experience”

Digital Foundry are impressed.

This week the first was released Microsoft Flight Simulatorgame ever to a console. A real achievement, if we ask Digital Foundry. Which we probably do right in since they usually know their technicalities.

Video tested by Flight Simulator you see in the player above, and Digital Foundry thinks the game does “very good” on the Xbox Series X. The Series S version also deserves praise, it is said, as the PC game has become one of the 2020s’ answers to Crysis, and even awesome computers are sweating.

It’s been described as the new Crysis – Microsoft Flight Simulator is scalable, but it’s also incredibly challenging to run at its higher settings, even when using the most powerful graphics hardware on the market.

When Microsoft Flight Simulator was released for PC in the summer of 2020, Tompa Helenius said that “easy!” was worth the 14 year wait. Another year of waiting for the Xbox also seems to be worth it.
