Microsoft does not appear to be releasing Surface Hub 2S module for the time being – Computer – News

Microsoft does not appear to be releasing a processor cartridge for the Surface Hub 2S, a presentation screen for office environments. It was previously stated that a more powerful version, the Surface Hub 2X, would also be released and that the 2S would receive that hardware via a cartridge.

Recently the website Petri came up with it message that Microsoft would have canceled the Surface Hub 2X and now Twitter user WalkingCat has one fragment of a webinar from Microsoft. In it, the company states that Surface Hub 2S users may not need an upgrade or that a paid new cartridge may not be needed. The Microsoft spokesperson says that his company will not release a cartridge this year, because, among other things, running the image may not require such a hardware solution.

The Hub became 2S last year presented and released. It is a 50 “LCD with a resolution of 3840×2560 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3: 2. Input on the screen is via voice commands, the touchscreen or a stylus. Picking up voice commands the device has eight microphones, in addition to two speakers and a 4k camera on the top.

Rotating the image is not yet possible with this version. That would originally follow in the 2X, a more powerful version, but whether that will be released is also unclear. Microsoft does have plans to release some new, much-needed features for the original Surface Hub and the Hub 2S via a major software update. Also, the company will at least launch a larger 85 “version, according to a spokesperson let The Verge know.
