Microsoft has announced that its security tool Microsoft Defender It is already available as an application on the four most important platforms in the world, and these are none other than Windows, along with three new platforms: Android, iOS y macOSso your tool can now be installed on any competitor’s smartphone, tablet or computer.
According to the company, it will be available as part of the Microsoft 365 service, and is designed to offer protection against online threats as well as local ones. On Windows and macOS, Microsoft Defender will work together with the integrated antivirus or from third parties, while offering protection against Internet phishing attacks. The app will also display the security status of other devices it is installed on and provide security alerts.
In Android, Microsoft Defender includes its own antivirus along with malware scanning for currently installed and newly downloaded apps. It also offers web protection just like desktop apps. The iOS app is the least useful, as only includes web protection but just like the other apps, you can see the security status of your other devices that the app is installed on.
The app is a free download on all platforms, but requires a Microsoft 365 subscription.
