Microsoft Confirms Windows 11 24H2 Update, Debunks Rumors of Windows 12 Release

Rumors about a new variant of Windows have been circulating on the internet lately. There was speculation about increasing the number from 11 to 12 – this will not happen in the end.

On its blog in the Windows Insider program, Microsoft confirmed the speculation about the arrival of this year’s major update, namely Windows 11 24H2. The director of Qualcomm also participated in the speculation. In doing so, they completely refuted the assumptions about this year’s release of the new Windows 12.

However, the fact that the system label will not change will not affect all the new functions that will come with the 24H2 update to Windows 11. Microsoft did not share specific news, but it can be assumed that it will be the integration of artificial intelligence into the entire system. Hardware-accelerated NPUs (Neural Processing Units) will also be added to the system. The much-anticipated implementation of Copilot instead of Cortana will probably also not miss us – this is also related to the new button on the keyboards.

Microsoft has decided to return to an annual frequency of releasing major updates, instead of releasing new features every few months. However, Windows 11 will still receive updates with new features from time to time, even outside of major system updates.
