It seems that the rumors this morning on the probable Xbox Live Gold subscription price increase were not unfounded, since Microsoft’s official website has just updated with all the details on theincrease in service costs.
The increase in question is 1 dollar for the monthly subscription and 5 dollars for the quarterly one: this means that in American territory the new prices will be the following:
- Xbox Live Gold 1 month subscription: $ 10.99
- Xbox Live Gold 3-month membership: $ 29.99
- Xbox Live Gold 6-month subscription: $ 59.99
It should be noted that anyone who already has an active subscription will not have to do anything and the new prices will be applied only at the time of renewal. All others will have to adapt to the changes made by Microsoft. At the moment it is not clear which countries outside America will undergo this change, but Microsoft has confirmed that in the next few days an email will be sent to all directly concerned and the price increase will only take effect after 45 days after receiving this message. If the changes also affect the Italian market we will find out only in a few days, when subscribers will report that they have received the e-mail in question.
