Microsoft confirms: – Some Bethesda games will be exclusive to Xbox and PC

Some future Bethesda games will be available exclusively to gamers on Xbox and PC. This was confirmed by Xbox CEO Phil Spencer this week.

The news comes in connection with Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda and the rest of ZeniMax Media this week being officially approved by authorities in both the US and the EU. In a open letter on Xbox web pages Spencer presented the first plans for the collaboration, which include exclusive games.

– With the addition of Bethesda’s development team, players should know that Xbox consoles, PCs and Game Pass will be the best places to experience new Bethesda games – including some new titles that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC gamers.

The Xbox boss did not share any information about the games in question, so PlayStation and Nintendo fans will have to live in uncertainty for a while longer. Microsoft has previously said that the company do not feel compelled to sell games on other platforms to cover the ZeniMax acquisition, and that the issue of exclusivity will assessed from game to game.

In addition to Bethesda Game Studios, Microsoft has now picked up ID Software, Arkane, MachineGames and Tango GameWorks, among others. The studios have a bunch of exciting projects in the oven, including The Elder Scrolls 6, Starfield, Deathloop, Ghostwire: Tokyo and a new Indiana Jones game.

Otherwise, Spencer announced that even more Bethesda games will soon find their way to the Xbox Game Pass. A new game is coming this week, and the Xbox will reveal which ones in the next few days.
