An advertisement in which your Xbox Game pass mentions the steroids for your gaming PC (or for all your gaming equipment such as streaming) would have been enough. This whole Xbox live, gold, gamepass ect… name changes can’t be good for your marketing.
It does follow the bad name of the Xbox consoles with: 360 E, One X, Series S/X ect..
Xbox as a service platform finally seemed to have a clear path with Consoles as by-products. Now I wonder again what they are doing. It feels like there’s too much conflict within the company about Xbox’s vision.
Cast a rock-solid generation with the Xbox 360 and then flopped with the Xbox One release because it would be more of a “home entertainment system” than a game console. As a result, corrections started right after release.
Comeback with the Series S/X of which the X was called the most powerful console in (on paper anyway). Everyone is excited and especially with the announced Halo game that was used as USP in trailers and debut of Xbox S/X. The hype has never been greater for Xbox and than the disappointing trailer of the game in note bene graphics on the most powerful console ever. The result is an official and public apology…
Maybe a smaller team should take the lead, maybe someone should grab Xbox by the balls and say this is what we’re going to do for the next 6 years, maybe there should be more feedback from the scene….
Let’s hope Xbox/PC Game Pass has a more aligned future
