Microsoft Buys Activision Blizzard, What’s the Fate of Call of Duty?

On the other hand, the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft will be completed in the 2023 fiscal year, which starts from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. If you refer to the calendar, the continuation of the fate of Call of Duty on other platforms is still a question mark.

As is known, Microsoft acquired the game studio Activision Blizzard. Game publisher ‘annexation’ value Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and Diablo are at Rp 986 trillion.

Microsoft’s move to buy Activision Blizzard is a way for the company formed by Bill Gates to compete with Sony and Tencent in the game industry. Microsoft is already planning to add Activision’s lineup of game titles to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass after this deal is finalized.

Currently, Xbox Game Pass already has 25 million subscribers. Microsoft is trying to improve customer service by continuing to acquire studios.

“We’re investing heavily in content, communities and the cloud to usher in a new era of gaming that puts players and content creators first,” said Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
