That the amount that we see is so large and massive can be counted as a “dime” for them, even though the number touches the number of billions of USD though. Just look at the figure of 7.5 billion USD that they poured to buy Bethesda and all the franchises that became their subordinates. If you think the number is big enough, you still don’t understand anything. Why? Because Microsoft just bought Activision Blizzard.
That’s right, you didn’t misread this news at all. Microsoft has just bought Activision Blizzard and that means overseeing all of their giant franchises. This means, Microsoft owns the rights to games like Call of Duty, Warcraft, Candy Crush, Tony Hawk, Diablo, Overwatch, Spyro, Hearthstone, Guitar Hero, Crash Bandicoot, and also Starcraft. Microsoft and Activision will act as independent studios until the deal is completed. After the deal, Actvision Blizzard CEO will report to Phil Spencer as CEO of Microsoft Gaming.
As can be predicted, this strategy will also further enrich the Game Pass library which will now be endeavored as soon as possible to start filling with more Activision Blizzard games in the near future. Their games are also considered by Microsoft to be suitable for accelerating the process of adopting Cloud Gaming technology. Although the total value surrounding this purchase transaction is not explained, one well-known gaming journalist source believes the price is around USD 70 billion or around 1 Quadrillion Rupiah!
