Microsoft begins testing Dolby Vision on new Xbox consoles

Dolby Vision is now available to Xbox Series X / S owners who are part of the Xbox Insiders alpha ring team, reports The Verge.

Dolby Vision is a collection of technologies developed by Dolby Labs to enhance HDR video. According to Microsoft itself, the technology will enable brighter markings, sharper contrast and more vibrant colors in games and will provide better clarity in both light and dark scenes. Everything is understood provided you play on a compatible TV.

With this, the Xbox Series X / S will be the first game consoles to support Dolby Vision. Something that competitors Playstation 5 and Nintendo Switch do not have at present.

When Dolby Vision will appear for all Xbox Series X / S owners is currently unknown.
