Microsoft at CES unveils new keyboards with Copilot and hotkey changes

Microsoft’s partners will present keyboards with a new button at the consumer electronics fair CES in Las Vegas, USA, which starts next Tuesday.

People will be able to buy the first new keyboards in stores this month.

What does Copilot offer?

In Windows 11, Copilot will enable, among other things, summarizing texts, automatically writing e-mails or creating images. It uses the large language model GPT-4 from OpenAI, in which Microsoft has already invested 13 billion dollars (292 billion crowns).

Copilot can already be used by people as an application on mobile phones for a few days, otherwise the paid ChatGPT-4 and Dall-E for drawing pictures are free there.

Changing the hotkey

Last year, Microsoft already changed the functionality of the PrintScreen key, which is used to capture screenshots. This button had been in use for nearly 30 years without change until then. Just press it, after which a screenshot will be placed in the clipboard, with which you can continue to work as you wish.

For creating fingerprints, there is also a useful Snippets tool available in Windows, which you can activate with the keyboard shortcut Windows + Shift + S. Through it, you can easily select only a certain area of the screen, literally cut it out and save it.

In the latest version of Windows, the PrintScreen key no longer prints the screen by default, but launches the just-mentioned Clippings.

Microsoft wants to change the functionality of the hotkey. What will he do?
