The company has stated that the computer running this system will still work, but without updates, asking to upgrade the operating system to a still supported operating system version, such as Windows 11.
The company has indicated that starting Tuesday, January 10, users will not be able to purchase and install apps and games from the Microsoft Store on their Windows 8.1 computers.
Microsoft introduced Windows 8.1 in 2013 and it is mainly for touchscreen computers, but it also supports classic computers.
