Microsoft has started sending out invitations to various media outlets for a “special event” to be held in New York on September 21.
Here’s what we know
The message reads: “Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 21, 2023, for a special event Microsoft is planning.” It’s already a tradition for the company to hold dedicated Surface product events in September or October, so we can expect the new hardware to be unveiled next month.
In particular, we know that Microsoft has plans to release Surface Go 4, Surface Laptop Studio 2, and Surface Laptop Go 3. According to Windows Central, the updated Surface Laptop Studio 2 will have the latest Intel processors, a more powerful GPU and an expanded selection of ports. It also turned out that Microsoft decided to drop Arm processors for the Surface Go 4 in favor of Intel processors.
It’s also possible that the event will provide more details about the next major Windows 11 update. Earlier this year, Microsoft announced a September update for Windows 11 that should include built-in support for RAR files. and 7-Zip, a redesigned Settings homepage, improved volume mixer, and access to the Windows Copilot app.
