Microsoft Announces Launch of New Surface Devices and Windows 11 Updates at “The New Era of Work” Event

Microsoft announced the organization of a digital event to launch new Surface devices, operating system updates (Windows 11), and the Copilot artificial intelligence assistant later this month.

The event, called “The New Era of Work,” scheduled to be held on March 21, targets corporate clients, as it is supposed to include the announcement of new (Surface Pro 10) and (Surface Laptop 6) devices for companies, with a focus on the artificial intelligence improvements coming from Microsoft to the operating system. (Windows 11).

The March event focuses on minor improvements in specifications for the two commercial models (Surface Pro 10) and (Surface Laptop 6), although consumer models for both devices are scheduled to receive a major redesign this spring.

While the commercial Surface Pro 10 includes modern Intel chips with a familiar design, Microsoft is moving to an OLED screen with the Surface Pro 10 for consumers, and the March event focuses on minor commercial updates to current Surface models.

Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 are supposed to arrive to consumers with Arm processor options, allowing Microsoft to update the designs of both devices.

Information indicates that the Surface Laptop 6 may contain a clear update in terms of design, thanks to the thin screen edges, rounded corners, touchpad, two USB-C ports and a USB-A port.

Microsoft plans to ship the (Core Ultra) versions of (Surface Pro 10) and (Surface Laptop 6) next April, followed by the (Snapdragon X Elite) versions next June.

Both the commercial and consumer versions of (Surface Pro 10) and (Surface Laptop 6) contain Microsoft’s modern Copilot key, which is part of the broader artificial intelligence effort for Windows.

Microsoft has not yet detailed its big plans for artificial intelligence features in the Windows 11 update scheduled for this year, although the company is likely to do so at the upcoming Build Developer Conference.

Microsoft is working on improving the Copilot experience on a large scale in the Windows 11 operating system, although it is also working on the new experience called (AI Explorer), which is considered an artificial intelligence experience that separates computers working with artificial intelligence from computers that do not work with artificial intelligence.

The new experience is described as an advanced (Copilot) that indexes everything you do via the computer and turns it into searchable moments using natural language. Microsoft previously tried to achieve the same thing through the timeline feature in the operating system (Windows 10), although this time the feature is supported by artificial intelligence. It works with any application.
