Microsoft Announces End of Windows 10 Support with Release of Final Update 22H2

Inc. announced Microsoft Update 22H2 will be the final version of the popular Windows 10 operating system.

Stop support for Windows 10

Through its official blog, the tech giant said that from now on, all versions of the Windows 10 operating system will be supported with monthly security updates until the scheduled date to stop supporting the system.

Microsoft has indicated that it intends to end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, two years from now.

And this step comes from the company, as usual, in order to encourage users to upgrade and move to the new operating system, which is Windows 11. Because the previous version will not offer any new features anymore.

The Windows 10 operating system was launched for the first time in 2015 and from that time until now. It is the most used and famous compared to other versions.

According to market data website and statistic StatistaWindows 10 is the most popular Windows operating system with a market share of around 69% as of January 2023.

The share of devices running the outdated Windows 7 operating system has declined over the past year. It will be replaced by Windows 11, which is a year and a half old and currently holds 18% of the market share.
