Like Sony once with Quantic Dream, Microsoft is once again strengthening its catalog of narrative games with A Dusk Fall. Ironically, this new title was created by former members of the French studio, headed by Caroline Marchal (formerly “lead game designer” at Quantic Dream). We learn at the same time that its development began in 2016.

With Interior / Night, Microsoft has its new studio dedicated entirely to narrative games. We specify that Tell me Why is also a narrative game exclusive on Xbox and Windows 10, but this is only a one-time exclusive (as for Sunset Overdrive developed by Insomniac Games at the time for example) because Dontnod does not belong to the American company.
As Dusk Falls is defined as an interactive graphic novel set over several generations in the American Southwest and involving many different characters. Nevertheless, it is above all his very particular artistic direction that we notice at first glance. The least we can say is that the visual originality is there with a curious mixture of 3D and 2D.
The story will focus on two trapped families that we will follow over several decades. On the other hand, we will wait to learn more about the gameplay and in particular what it will offer in terms of choice for example.
As Dusk Falls is scheduled for Xbox One, Xbox series X and Windows 10 at a date unknown. It will also be available through Xbox Game Pass.
