Microsoft and G42 Group Launch Ambitious Plan for Cloud Services and AI Innovation in UAE

ABU DHABI, 5th September, 2020 (WAM) — The G42 Group and Microsoft Corporation have begun a new phase in their strategic cooperation, as they announced an ambitious plan that includes providing local cloud services, supporting innovation and investing in advanced artificial intelligence technologies, as well as improving and expanding the infrastructure of data centers in the UAE.

Microsoft’s sovereign cloud services will enable the government sector and regulated industries in the UAE to secure sensitive data, provide them with access to the latest cloud and artificial intelligence features available in the Azure cloud, and make it easier for them to comply with local privacy standards.

The two companies seek to combine their expertise and capabilities in order to develop the latest industrial solutions that rely on artificial intelligence in the fields of health, life sciences, energy, sustainability and national projects. They will also participate this year in the climate change conference “COP 28” to be held in the UAE.

The G42 Group and Microsoft intend to set new standards for cloud computing security and innovations in the government sector. As part of this partnership, Microsoft will expand its Azure cloud services in the UAE through Khazna Data Centers, a joint venture between the G42 Group and Etisalat Group.
