Microraptor, the first dinosaur recorded to eat a mammal

Gunem.id – A fossil dinosaur, known as Microraptorshe was found with the feet of a small, rat-sized creature stuck in his rib cage.

Microraptorswhich in Greek means petty thief, was discovered for the first time in 2000 and lived between 113 and 125 million years ago in ancient forests of today’s China.

It weighs about 1 kg and is 0.8 m long, experts believe Microraptors may be capable of manned flight.

Equipped with long remiges on all four limbs, paleontologists wondered if this served to aid flight or to attract mates.

Early records of colorful plumage led researchers to believe that dinosaurs used their shiny wings as a way to display sexual prowess.

Evidence suggests that the animal most likely lived on land and was not a very good climber.
