Data carrier manufacturers are constantly pushing the limits of hardware capacity. Micron has just introduced a microSD card with record space for user data.

The latest microSD card from Micron has a capacity of 1.5 TB. It is a record in the category of data carriers of this type.

Micron boasts that it achieved such a result thanks to using the technology of 176 3D NAND layers. The company targets the needs of professional users, such as camera operators, with a 1500 GB microSD card. The price has yet to be disclosed, but is expected to be in excess of $ 250.

So far, the largest microSD cards introduced to the market had a capacity of 1000 GB. Such offers from SanDisk and PNY are valued at about PLN 800-1200 (depending on the speed of writing / reading data)

This is not the last word of Micron on the development of microSD cards. The corporation has already announced that it is working on 3D NAND technology with 232 layers, which will significantly increase the capacity of data carriers.
