Microbus Accident Claims Lives of Four in Tragic Incident on Fayoum Road

With the sunset on Friday and its rays behind the clouds, Reda Abdel Moneim accompanied his family on their way to the capital, coming from their hometown, Nasser Center, Beni Suef Governorate. The man in his forties and his three children took the car through Fayoum Road.

No sooner had the car passed the “tank” – a landmark on the road near Dahshur camp – when events turned upside down, and death took hold of the four-wheeled vehicle, claiming the lives of the simple man and two of his children, while his five-year-old son survived.

Eight o’clock in the evening, the radio station located in front of the official of the Operations Room of the General Traffic Department announced that an accident had occurred. The reporter barely caught his breath, revealing that an accident had occurred and that there were injured people on the road indicated in the direction of the pyramid.

Immediately, the security and traffic services moved to the place of the communication, and the examination revealed that the steering wheel was imbalanced by the driver of a microbus towards Cairo Governorate, and the vehicle overturned on the road, resulting in 4 deaths and 10 injuries.

The injured were transferred to Al-Haram Hospital for treatment, and the bodies were deposited in the mortuary at the disposal of the Public Prosecution to authorize burial after the end of the examination. Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Director of Giza Security, notified the incident.

The four victims are: Amr Ahmed, 36 years old, Reda Abdel Moneim, 47 years old, his daughter Haneen, 16 years old, and her infant brother (Tamim, a year and a half), while their third brother Malik, 5 years old, and Abdel Badi Mohamed, 22, and his cousin Abdel Badi Saad, 21, Hossam Mansour, were wounded. 21 years old, Ahmed Abdullah 36 years old, Ghada Jaber 40 years old, Ayman Sayed 32 years old, Najat Muhammad 75 years old, Sayed Khaled 48 years old and his son Ahmed 14 years old.
