Micro LED TV LG Magnit now also in a 272″ (691cm) version

Company LG was present at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2023 fair and presented several novelties. The most interesting thing was probably the giant 272″ Micro LED TV LG Magnet (complements 136″ and 163″ version). Micro LED technology brings tiny LEDs as a direct source of brightness for a given pixel, so it can achieve high contrast similar to OLED displays, but without their typical disadvantages. It consists of small modules with a resolution of 320×120 pixels, which are organized in 2×3 matrices into larger modules with a resolution of 640×360 pixels. The resulting resolution of this television is 8K (7680×4320 pixels).

The TV reaches a brightness of 600 nits, and even 1200 nits at its peak. Viewing angles are 160° horizontally and vertically. The maximum contrast is 100000:1. Max. the consumption of one larger module is 72 W, the average is 47 W. For the entire TV, it is a maximum of 10.4 kW, or 6.8 kW on average. The manufacturer sees such a TV being deployed in the home office (I’d say it’s an extremely large and probably very expensive toy), home theater, boardrooms, hotel lobbies, and the like. LG also demonstrated synchronization with a 56″ Transparent OLED Signage (model 55EW5G-V).
