The reason for Mickoski’s speech was a statement by Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov yesterday, who said: “We should not just lift the veto for the start of negotiations between RS Macedonia and the European Union, we must move the veto. The change of the Constitution should take place before the first of the many chapters to be opened. “
According to Mickoski, if Kiril Petkov’s words are read carefully, it means that bilateral issues and all the demands of official Sofia will be included in the negotiating framework – something his party warned him about a few months ago.
He believes that other EU countries will not allow bilateral issues to be included in the negotiating framework of RS Macedonia.
“But I am convinced that the EU Member States will not allow it, because many times in the past these same Member States have said that bilateral problems are only bilateral problems and can never be multilateral, ie. problems of EU member states with candidate countries. So, if that happens and if this government signs such a document, the people of Macedonia and the citizens should know that this first intergovernmental conference may take place, but negotiations will never begin until we agree to be assimilated and to enter the EU as Bulgarians, as well as to accept everything contained in the resolution of the Bulgarian Parliament of November 2019, “added Mickoski.
