Michy Batshuayi bids farewell to Beşiktaş!

Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi, whom Beşiktaş hired from Chelsea at the beginning of the season, announced that he was leaving the club.

The Belgian star used the following statements in his social media account:

“Dear Beşiktaş fans, it’s time to say goodbye. There is much to tell, but I will briefly write some things down here.

First of all, I would like to thank you all for the warm welcome I have had here. I have never seen such passion and you made me fall in love with this country, this club. It never felt like my new home.

Our season has been very difficult, very long and frustrating. We all knew we could do better.

I gave my all for this jersey and I couldn’t score as many goals as I should have. It was a huge disappointment for everyone. I hope you remember me well.

I will only keep the best memories in mind, such as the Super Cup, the atmosphere at Vodafone Park and the best matches on the pitch.

I wish the club, all the staff I work with, my teammates and Beşiktaş fans the best for the future. Because that’s what you deserve.

Thanks again to all of you.”

Batshuayi scored 14 goals and 3 assists in 42 games for Beşiktaş.
