Born in Vietnam, Michel Poinsignon cut his teeth as a footballer in the Saint-Étienne region. A member of the reserve team of the “Greens”, he won the Division 3 championship in 1980. It was on this date that he left Forez to join Stade Rennes in the second division. He will continue his playing career in D2 and D3, with Montceau-les-Mines and Annecy.

It was also in Annecy, at the beginning of the 1990s, that he began his retraining as a coach.
He will pass on the benches of Annemasse, Meythet, Rumilly then Chambéry where he will stay 7 seasons with several climbs up to National 3. He then joined Annecy in 2011 where he spent 5 seasons and took the R1 team to National 2. There followed a period of 3 years in Switzerland at Perly Certoux then at Servette de Genève, before returning to Annecy in 2019 where he climbed from National 2 to National.

“The team needs to regain confidence, especially at home where they have lost too many points. The players must free themselves and gain in efficiency in the 2 surfaces. I can’t wait to meet the group to refine my analysis and start working, but we have little time, we will have to earn points quickly. I am delighted to join SC Toulon which is a flagship club in French football. I will humbly try to bring my stone to the building in the ambitious project of the club. I would like to thank the majority shareholder (whom I have met many times on the Rhône-Alpes terrain for several seasons) for their confidence, as well as Jean Tigana and the sports management with whom I spoke at length. Now I can’t wait to start working, the hard part begins! “

This experienced coach, who knows the level of National 2 well, will be accompanied on the bench by 2 from Toulon: Luigi Alfano and Franck Luccini.

Michel Poinsignon, welcome to Toulon!
