“Michal Jordán’s Journey from the World Championship to Family Priority”

Riga (From our correspondent) – But it’s been a long week for Jordan. He has been preparing for the World Championship since the very beginning, that is, for over a month. He survived all the cuts and held his own until the final nomination. “If I didn’t want to be here, I wouldn’t go. It’s longer, but I always want to tell myself that I did my best to play in the championship. I like representing the youth categories and it’s an honor for me,” describes Jordán. “As boys, we watched the championships. When medals were won, it made you want to stand on the ice with the cup one day. It had a big impact on our generation influence.”

Coach Zábranský, who is in charge of the backs’ representation, undoubtedly relies a lot on his experience and defensive style of play. He is paired with Jakub Zbořil, who is a more offensive type of defender for a change. However, at the beginning of the season, it was not clear whether he would even be able to join the national team. Although he was not affected by the union regulation, which forbade players from the KHL to represent, because he signed the contract before the invasion, but the Russian clubs did not respect the national team breaks. And even coach Jalonen did not want to call up players from the east.

In the absence of Roman Červenka, Michal Jordán was the captain in the final match at the Czech Hockey Games and received the trophy for third place.

But then Jordan’s family was hit by an accident. The hockey player’s wife fell off a horse and could not come to Russia because of her injury. The family needed a dad by their side, and these events allowed Jordan to find a clause in his contract that allowed him to get out of the Russian engagement and go to Switzerland. “That and his wife hastened the end in Russia.”

But whether he will continue in Rapperswil is unclear. He does not have a contract and is waiting to see what the agent negotiates for him. “I have some age, experience and teams know if I fit in,” he says.

He prefers abroad and, above all, to be together with his family on his next stay, and his 14-year-old son can develop his hockey skills here. He stumbled, even if he is a bit of a hockey nomad. “It’s not easy for him, he had to change his style of play and the demands are different in every country. But he always dealt with it well and fit into the team. When I see how he’s improving, how much he enjoys it and likes going to training, it gives me a reason to be together as a family,” explains Jordán.

Sometimes he turns into a mentor, although he admits with a smile that his son is reaching puberty when he “absolutely does not want to hear my opinion and retorts.” anything, but the basis is how they study.”

So where will their steps lead now?
