The recent suspension of Michael thomas was the result of a confrontation with the New Orleans Saints coaching staff, according to The Athletic.
The receiver, who missed Monday’s game, reportedly spoke to coaches, including Headcoach Sean Paytonafter quarreling with teammate CJ Gardner-Johnson during Saturday’s practice session.
The 27-year-old also yelled at the coaches for not taping his ankle properly and accused an employee of looking through his mail.
Thomas was due on Sunday Violation of the team rules officially excluded for the game on Monday on Sunday. It was originally listed as a “questionable” for the Monday Night Football Game.
The wideout had missed the team’s three previous games due to an ankle injury.
Payton didn’t give a straight answer after the Saints win on Monday when asked if Thomas’s suspension would only last one game.
“I’ll keep you posted …” Payton said.
