Many people know Michael Schulte from the casting show “The Voice of Germany” or from participating for Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest. Last Monday, the middle hall in Linz’s Posthof belonged to the singer. He proved once again that he actually belongs on the big stage. A concert evening that simply brought a good mood throughout.
But before the star of the evening came on stage, the powerful-voiced Jack Curley opened the concert evening. With just his acoustic guitar in hand, the singer from Stalybridge/Manchester brought street music vibes into the hall, which he completely filled with his voice.
Authentic and likeable
Michael Schulte wasn’t sure whether people bought a ticket for him as a joke or whether it was because they actually wanted to hear and see him. Last Monday evening, Schulte, an incredibly likeable and authentic person, took to the stage in the middle hall of the Linzer Posthof. Many people know him from The Voice of Germany or participation in Eurovision Song Contest. Songs like Beautiful Reason or his ESC song You Let Me Walk Alone are already being played numerous times on the radio in Austria.
As he himself said, the 34-year-old has been making music for around 20 years. In Austria, however, it is only now really starting to “act up”. Schulte, like his support, concentrated on his voice and thereby reduced his band to just three people in total. The German singer was accompanied by his keyboardist and his drummer. Schulte was able to captivate the audience right from the start. At the latest than him You Let Me Walk Alone It was also clear to him that the audience wasn’t just buying a ticket for fun and games, but rather to sing his songs with him and enjoy his music.
Between songs, Schulte took time to tell his fans personal stories from his life. In addition, bracelets were exchanged, as we know from Taylor Swift, and there was also time for photos with the fans from the front row in the 80-minute set.
Conclusion
On Monday evening, the Posthof offered a concert evening where the artists concentrated on the essentials, their voices, with little accompaniment and frills. And both artists convinced the audience that they didn’t need anything more to offer a perfect concert evening. Both Curley and Schulte presented themselves authentically and likeably on stage. From the beginning it was fun to listen to the artists, get involved in the evening and enjoy it. A concert evening that simply brought a good mood throughout. @Posthof: I’d love to see more of that!
