In the first round of the ATP 500 in Washington, the American Michael Mmoh, 112th in the world, eliminated his compatriot Bradley Klahn, from qualifications.
Victory 6-3, 6-3 without conceding a single serve, and with only two break points to defend.
Former 63rd in the ATP rankings, Klahn, 32 and currently 797th, is struggling to regain his best level since his third back operation dating from December 2020 which had deprived him of competition until June 2022.
Mmoh, who distinguished himself by eliminating Félix Auger-Aliassime at Wimbledon, will face the No. 4 seed Hubert Hurkacz in the second round of the Washington tournament.
