Michael Lang is the regional correspondent on the Ahr. He researches on site where there are problems with reconstruction, how those affected cope with their trauma, how the new flood protection works and what climate change has to do with the flash floods in the Ahr Valley.
Rhein
The Rhinelander has already shot films on the consequences of climate change in the Amazon and in Greenland. His contributions to business magazines in the ARD have received several awards: 2008 – Bund der Steuerberater-Journalistenpreis, 2011 – Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize for business journalism, 2015 – Abdruck Journalistenpreis. Michael Lang teaches journalism at a university in Cologne.
Ruhr
Since his journalism diploma at the University of Dortmund, Michael Lang has been fascinated by the Ruhr Expressway. “Die Angstbare Straße” – that’s the name of the two short films about the lifeline of the Ruhr area, directed by Michael Lang. The films were awarded the title “Particularly valuable” by the German Film and Media Evaluation.
