Six basketball shoes worn by basketball legend Michael Jordan have sold at auction for a record 8 million dollars

The shoes were used in the final games of the seasons in which Jordan won the NBA with the Chicago Bulls.
According to the auction house Sotheby’s, the winning bid set a new price record for shoes used in combat.
The collection sold Friday consisted of one Air Jordan shoe from each of the final games in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997 and 1998.
– This is both a reminder of the lasting impression Michael Jordan has made and a concrete expression of his legendary status, which is further reinforced by the end result, says Brahm Wachter from Sotherby’s in a statement.
It is not known who bought the collection of half pairs of shoes. The seller is described only as “a private American collector” who obtained the shoes from a former manager of the Chicago Bulls.
Jordan began by giving a shoe to a person in the club’s management after the match that secured the title in 1991. After that, it became a tradition, says Sotheby’s. Friday’s shoe buyer also gets photos of Jordan wearing one shoe while celebrating the titles.
In addition to being one of the sport’s greatest profiles – considered by many to be the greatest player of all time – Jordan also contributed to the renewal of sports shoes and the culture surrounding them when he created the Air Jordan shoes together with Nike in the mid-1980s.
