Michael Jackson in Würzburg: How 43,000 fans celebrate the superstar

Over 40,000 people on the Main and numerous fans in the vineyards listened and were amazed: The Michael Jackson concert on August 21, 1988 in Würzburg was a mega-event.

1988: In May the USSR begins withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan, 70 people die at the flight day in Ramstein. Werder Bremen becomes German football champion, and Steffi Graf wins all four tennis grand slam tournaments of the year. The U&D is taking place for the first time in Würzburg, Suhl in Thuringia becomes the official twin town, and the volunteer fire brigade is founded in the Lengfeld district.
