Michael J. Fox, known to everyone from Back to the Future, took part in this year’s New York Comic Con. The 61-year-old actor met with colleague Christopher Lloyd. “Working with Chris was the best part of the movie,” said Fox, adding: because he’s just amazing.
During a very emotional conversation, Fox revealed the unfortunate news. The actor’s mother, Phyllis Piper, died in late September. Mentioning her, the star recounted how her mother reacted to her starring in the movie “Back to the Future”.
I was then 23 years old. I called her and told her they wanted me to star in Steven Spielberg’s new movie (“Back to the Future” – ed). I just added that I should have shot it at night. She said it was a bad idea because I would be too tired.
“She liked the movie, but she was right: I was terribly tired,” laughs the actor.
Later in the conversation, the actor revealed his current state of health. Recall that in the late 1990s he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. “Well, last year I broke a cheekbone, a bone in the eye socket and also a hand, an elbow and an arm. It was definitely a tough year. But I can see the bright side. I reckon it could survive it all and I felt grateful. If you can find it, whatever you can be grateful for, it’ll only get better. That’s optimism for me, “he said.
